Best Full-Body MRI Scans in 2026
A full-body MRI takes detailed pictures of large parts of your body in one visit, and a radiologist reports what they see. Compare what each provider’s scans cover, where you can get one, what it costs and what you get afterwards.
About these scans
What it is. MRI uses a strong magnet and radio waves, not X-rays, to make detailed images of your organs, brain and spine. A full-body scan covers several parts of your body in one session.
Why people get one. Most people book one to look for problems such as tumors or aneurysms before they cause symptoms, or to have a baseline to compare later scans against.
How it works. You book online and answer health and MRI-safety questions. On the day, you lie still in the scanner for roughly 20 to 60 minutes. A radiologist reads the images, and you get a report within about one to two weeks, often with a call to go through it.
What differs. Mainly what the scan covers. Some plans leave out the chest, spine or legs, and some add analysis such as brain volume or liver fat. Each provider’s plans below say what’s included.
