APOE
- Named inherited reports
- Includes BRCA1/BRCA2, Lynch, familial-heart and carrier reports; a negative result does not rule out every inherited condition or variant.
- Alzheimer’s risk
- Public report gene display names APOE; this does not verify an individual ε4 genotype report or treatment eligibility.
- One person
- Health and Preview are report areas in one kit. Partner/embryo testing requires a separate purchase.

Help
Live consultation
Extra feeA SteadyMD genetic counselor discusses your results with you for one hour for $99.
Getting tested
Collect both cheek swabs for the same person and return them in the supplied tube. New York customers must collect and mail the sample from outside New York.
Preparing for your test
- Instructions
- Follow supplied swab instructions; no specific fasting or medication-stop interval established.
About Nucleus Genomics
Nucleus sequences a home cheek-swab sample for inherited-condition, carrier, common-risk and trait reports. Health and Preview are report areas for one person, with genome-file downloads and renewing membership. A genetic-counselor appointment is an optional extra.

What people complain about
Reports can feel less detailed
Some sequencing customers find the ready-made analysis less informative than expected and turn to their raw files for further exploration, particularly when they want more detailed interpretation.
Things to know
- Approved kit cancellations have a seven-day window.
A cancellation deduction applies; ordinary refunds end after the laboratory receives the sample.
- Membership renews annually.
Personal genetic counseling is an optional extra.
- External health-data research requires opt-in consent.
External PHI research is opt-in; internal validation, service sharing and legal disclosures have separate terms.
- Collect outside New York.
New York customers may receive a kit there but must collect and mail the sample outside the state.

$299FAQs
Are Health and Preview tests for two people?
No. They are report areas in a kit for one person. Both swabs belong to that person; a partner needs a separate purchase.
What does the first-year purchase include?
One US kit includes the test and required first-year membership, with free US shipping and prepaid return. Membership renews annually; tax is shown at checkout.
Are Health and Preview two people’s tests?
No. One kit includes both report areas for one person. Its two swabs are not two sequencing purchases; a partner needs another kit.
Is genetic counseling included?
No. Optional SteadyMD genetic counseling is $99 for one hour; Embryo and IVF+ have separate support terms.
Can I collect in New York?
A kit may be received in New York, but the sample must be collected and mailed from outside New York. This is a collection/return restriction, not a ban on New York residents.
Can I download my genome?
VCF, CRAM, SV, CNV and FASTQ downloads are advertised. Check access terms before your membership ends.
What if I wait to send the sample?
The laboratory must receive the sample within one year of ordering. Approved kit cancellations have a separate seven-day window.
