VLDL Cholesterol (VLDL-C)Calc

Cholesterol attributed to VLDL particles, estimated or measured depending on the laboratory method.

LDL-C/HDL-C RatioCalc

Calculated comparison of LDL cholesterol to HDL cholesterol, using amounts in the same units.

LDL-C to ApoB RatioCalc

A calculated comparison of LDL cholesterol and ApoB, not a direct measurement of LDL particle size.

ApoB/ApoA1 RatioCalc

Calculated comparison of ApoB and ApoA1 protein amounts, rather than a literal particle-count ratio.

Lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)]

The amount of Lp(a), a cholesterol-carrying particle whose concentration is largely inherited.

Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c)

Percentage of hemoglobin with sugar attached, reflecting average blood sugar over roughly two to three months.

C-Peptide

A substance released alongside insulin that helps assess the body's own insulin production.

Estimated Average Glucose (eAG)Calc

An estimate of average blood sugar calculated from HbA1c, rather than measured directly.

Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH)

A pituitary hormone that supports development of eggs in the ovaries and production of sperm.

Estradiol (E2)

The main estrogen during the reproductive years, produced primarily by the ovaries.

Total Testosterone

All testosterone circulating in blood, including protein-bound and unbound forms.

Dehydroepiandrosterone Sulfate (DHEA-S)

An adrenal hormone the body uses to make testosterone and estrogen.

Luteinizing Hormone (LH)

A pituitary hormone involved in ovulation and sex-hormone production in the ovaries and testes.

Sex Hormone-Binding Globulin (SHBG)

A protein made mainly by the liver that carries testosterone, estradiol and other sex hormones in blood.

Free TestosteroneCalc

The portion of testosterone circulating without being attached to blood proteins.

Calculated

Cortisol

An adrenal hormone involved in stress response, metabolism, blood pressure and inflammation.

Testosterone to Cortisol RatioCalc

A calculated comparison of testosterone and cortisol concentrations, whose numerical scale depends on the units.

Cortisol to DHEA-S RatioCalc

Calculated comparison of cortisol and DHEA-S, two adrenal hormones whose levels change differently.

Prolactin

A pituitary hormone involved in milk production and reproductive regulation.

Free Androgen Index (FAI)Calc

An estimate of testosterone exposure, calculated from total testosterone and its binding protein, SHBG.

Free TestosteroneMen only

The portion of testosterone circulating without being attached to blood proteins.

LH to FSH RatioCalcWomen only

A calculated comparison of two reproductive hormones, LH and FSH, from the same collection.

ProgesteroneWomen only

A hormone produced after ovulation and during pregnancy, measured at a particular point in time.

Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH)

A pituitary hormone that signals the thyroid gland to produce thyroid hormones.

Free T3 (Free Triiodothyronine)

The portion of thyroid hormone T3 circulating unbound to blood proteins.

Free T4 (Free Thyroxine)

The unbound portion of T4 thyroid hormone available to tissues, commonly considered alongside TSH.

Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (TPOAb)

Antibodies against an enzyme the thyroid uses to make thyroid hormones.

Thyroglobulin Antibodies (TgAb)

Antibodies that recognize thyroglobulin; they can also interfere with measurements of thyroglobulin itself.

TSH to Free T4 RatioCalc

A calculated comparison of TSH and free T4 from the same sample; its value depends on units.

Free T3/Free T4 RatioCalc

A calculated comparison of free T3 and free T4 thyroid hormones from the same blood sample.

Vitamin D (25-hydroxy)

The main circulating form of vitamin D, reflecting vitamin D from sunlight, food and supplements.

Ferritin

An iron-storage protein whose blood level generally reflects the body's iron stores.

Iron

Iron circulating in blood at collection, mostly attached to the transport protein transferrin.

Unsaturated Iron-Binding Capacity (UIBC)

The unused iron-binding capacity of transferrin, the protein that carries iron in blood.

Transferrin Saturation (TSAT)Calc

Percentage of iron-binding sites occupied, usually calculated from blood iron and total iron-binding capacity.

Vitamin B12

A vitamin needed for red blood cell formation, nervous-system function and DNA production.

Folate (Vitamin B9)

Vitamin B9, needed for making DNA, cell division and red blood cell production.

Total Iron-Binding Capacity (TIBC)

Estimated capacity of the blood's transferrin protein to bind and carry iron.

C-Reactive Protein (CRP)

A liver-made protein that rises in response to inflammation, measured with conventional or high-sensitivity assays.

High-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP)

Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT)

Reviews

What people praise

Affordable tests without another appointment

Customers value ordering the tests they want at a relatively low cost and taking the paperwork to Labcorp, without arranging a separate doctor visit just for the order.

What people complain about

Extra steps for paperwork and results

Some customers report needing a printed requisition or receiving results separately from their Labcorp account, making the visit or keeping all their reports together less seamless.

  • Cancel before using a laboratory order.

SiPhox kit cancellations must be requested within 48 hours. Gift cards are nonrefundable.

  • The collection route affects the total.

Labcorp purchases include a separate per-order draw fee in our comparison. Home kits have different fulfillment terms.

  • Research participation is optional.

The citizen-science discount involves sharing de-identified demographics and test results. The normal comparison price does not assume that choice.

  • Laboratory and kit restrictions differ.

New York residents cannot order. Additional residency restrictions apply to Labcorp purchases; home kits are permitted in several of those states.
